Happy Sunday. I’m a little under par today after a week including eye surgery and a stubborn cold so I look a little wild eyed and yellow around the ruffled gills like Bella Baxter here.

It is highly likely that Emma Stone who plays her in the movie will win Best Actress - i’d say it's highly unlikely anyone else will, but you never know.

I've written quite abit in my forthcoming book about a number of Hollywood movies and what they tell us about work including Poor Things, a and Everything Everywhere All At Once. Which won last year.

Many aspects of the story of work feels much safer told through entertainment than reality: just look at Mr Bates V The Post Office, the ITV drama which finally blew open the corporate and political scandal in the UK which had taken decades to gain traction previously.

Bella Baxter is a gripping character because she is Frankensteinian. We watch her develop from an implanted infant brain into a sentient feminist woman. It’s good drama.

But truth is stranger than fiction isn’t it? What about Digit -
